Hollow Component for Costal Protection
|
These hollow components are used in places where access to the coast from earth is
difficult and the stone price is high. So a ferrocement alternative has been developed to
replace traditional and expensive gabions and colchonetas.
It is important to mention the advantages of these components:
- They are made of different shapes in order to obtain an effective connection among the different parts.
- They can be filled with local material like sand, soil, clay, etc.
- They can be easily transported floating in water to the construction site because of its light weight.
- They do not need special equipment to be handled because of its specific light weight.
- They are impermeable.
Over geosynthetic matting, it is also possible to put our gabion system which functions as an
erosion controller and earth reinforcement. This system was officially patented in Argentina
by our firm.
